CBD for Menstrual Cramps & Pain

Pain and menstrual cramps that are recurrent and are not due to other diseases are known as primary dysmenorrhea. Pain generally begins a few days before menstrual bleeding and is felt in the abdomen, back, or thighs. Pain can be debilitating for many and accompanied by nausea-and-vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) can also exacerbate ones emotional, physical, and psychological state.

Treatments

Treatment options vary and each woman has a different treatment that is effective. For pain, women turn to over-the-counter aspirin and acetaminophen, or acetaminophen plus a diuretic. This is usually only helpful with mild cramps. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can be more effective with moderate cramps.

PMS can be challenging to find a solution that works. Doctors recommend exercising, adjusting diets, avoiding caffeine, learning stress techniques, or trying supplements.

CBD as an alternative

CBD has anti-inflammatory qualities that can help regulate the pain caused by prostaglandins – the hormone-nasty inflammatory chemicals that cause pain, uterine contractions, and heavy bleeding. CBD also has complex resolving properties, in fact, CBD is a natural anxiolytic (anxiety calmer). CBD oil may have all of the benefits of anti-anxiety medications without the side effects.

What products to try?

Using CBD lotion is an effective way you can try for fast relief. You can apply it inform of lotion, cream, salves, balm, or massage oil. Relief is usually instant or can take just a few minutes.

You can also try CBD sublingually (by mouth), this is a great way to get effective relief. We recommend trying our most effective CBD Oils or the Women’s Wellness CBD capsules.
