CBD Oil for Athletes: How does it work? Is it safe?

All athletes should be concerned with how stress, anxiety, and pain affect their bodies. Stress can ruin your performance and it can also enhance your performance. When athletes are faced with too much stress, they cannot respond effectively and may begin to fail. The natural treatment for any ache or pain is to cut back on the exercise for a period of time. But most athletes don’t have enough time.

Instead they are turning to pain relievers. This poses a great health risk, we are in the middle of a dark period with opioid addiction at its highest killing thousands of people annually. Athletes that are conscious of the epidemic are starting to seek natural relief with non-addictive substances. Cannabidiols (CBD) is one of the promises of pain relief and reduced inflammation without the risks associated with opioids.

In fact, both the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) have removed CBD from the list of prohibited substances – in or out of competition. Kyle Turley, a former NFL player and longtime advocate for the medicinal and healing properties of cannabis developed Neuro XPF. He said it helps with everyday pain, headaches, and sleeping at night.

So how, exactly, does it work for athletes? CBD plays an important role in the endocannabinoid system (ECS), the system fine tunes the bodies biology allowing a person to reduce health risks. Another thing is that it may promote hemostasis, helping all important parts of the body to work properly. ECS regulates sleep, moods, reproduction, memory, appetite, digestion, immunity, and motor learning. CBD may help promote homeostasis in the ECS system. CBD oil also interacts with receptors, called CB1 and CB2, which may reduce pain and the effects of inflammation.
